AREVA strengthens its footing in Japan

In April of 2008, Anne Lauvergeon closed several contracts for a total value of 2 billion Euros, in the Front End of the fuel cycle in Japan. AREVA’s cooperation with Mitsubishi has also been strengthened. Detail of agreements with a country where the group has been present for more than 30 years.

Louis-François Durret is appointed Senior Executive Vice President of the Renewable Energies Business Group.
He reports to Luc Oursel, President and Chief Executive Officer.

This appointment will be effective as from December 1, 2011.

Biographical elements

Louis-François Durret is a graduate of the École nationale des ponts et chausses and holds a diploma in advanced economics studies.

He began his career in the Pechiney group. He was deputy general manager of Comurhex from 1990 until 1993, the year he joined COGEMA as director of Strategy.

In 1999, he was appointed CFO of COGEMA and was in charge of launching a cost reduction and optimization plan. In 2001, he created AREVA’s Audit Department and, in 2004, he became director of the Enrichment Business Unit. Louis-François Durret has been director of the Fuel Business Unit since 2008.

Effective as from December 1st, 2011, he is appointed Senior Executive Vice President of the Renewable Energies Business Group.
