Commitments

In keeping with the sustainable development policy of the AREVA group, the facility in La Hague has implemented measures focusing on the environment, safety, health, and security. These measures are part of an initiative for continual progress already underway for several years.
Environment
AREVA's facility in La Hague has made commitments:
- In regulation, to respect compliance with standing legislation and environmental regulations and to surpass these where relevant.
- In terms of radiological impact, so that the operating impact of its plants does not surpass 0.03 millisieverts a year on the reference population groups. This value represents 1/100th of natural radioactivity and thus has no effect on health.
- In terms of pollution prevention so that pollution of any type is systematically prevented.
Safety
AREVA's facility in La Hague is committed to maintaining a high level of safety:
- Through an organization making it possible to respect safety rules as well as the objectives of protection against radiation for personnel and against radiological impact on the environment.
- Through the updating competence among personnel.
- Through improvements stemming from the systematic analysis of malfunctions likely to affect the safety of the facilities.
- Through reinforcement of a safety-oriented culture among all actors on the site.
- Through communication that enables risk awareness.
Health-Security
AREVA's facility in La Hague has committed to:
- Integrate regulatory requirements in terms of health and security into everyday practices and the working environment.
- Make improvements with suppliers and partners.
