CANBERRA Lingolsheim: manufacture of detection systems
CANBERRA, a subsidiary of the AREVA group, is world leader in nuclear measuring. Detection equipment for scientific applications and for imaging is designed and manufactured at the Lingolsheim site in Alsace, France.
Manufacture of gamma ray and x-ray measurement detectors
The CANBERRA facility at Lingolsheim specializes in the design, manufacture and maintenance of semiconductor-based detection systems (mainly germanium). These are used for the measurement of gamma and x-rays in physics.
These technologies are used for:
- measurement of the radiation emitted by reactions around the accelerators or synchrotrons.,
- astrophysics experiments analysing cosmic and intergalactic rays,
- systems capable of measuring very low radiological levels (requiring the elimination of ambient radiation) for sample dating, sedimentary layer analysis etc.
- X and gamma ray imaging.
The CANBERRA facility at Lingolsheim is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001-certified. These international certifications guarantee that its production, installation and after-sales support activities meet the most stringent quality standards and ensure the sustainable implementation of the environment, health and safety approach.
