CEMO: equipment servicing and repair

CEMO stores, services and repairs equipment that has been used during power plant maintenance periods. It consists of hot workshops and a storage warehouse. Its installations allow maintenance operations to be carried out off-site. It is located in France, in Chalon-sur-Saône.
CEMO (Centre de Maintenance des Outillages) is a center used to store and service equipment used by AREVA, its subsidiaries and partners during the maintenance of nuclear power plants.
By enabling maintenance operations to take place off-site at CEMO, AREVA relieves its customers of the burdens associated with planning these operations and therefore helps optimize maintenance and operation costs, as well as limiting the length of power plant shutdowns.
Storage
- The processed equipment in the transport containers is stored in 2 warehouses with a total surface area of 4,200m square meters.
- The containers are labelled and management software monitors their movement, enabling operators to be aware of the total radiological activity in the warehouse and workshop.
Servicing
- The workshop, which has a surface area of 820 square meters, is made up of different bays: 8 dedicated to maintenance, 1 equipped with machining resources available to center users, the others reserved for works related to operation (linen room, decontamination, waste treatment).
- Containment of the premises is assured by a ventilation station.
- The waste generated by the center's activity is processed and sent to SOCODEI/CENTRACO for treatment.
