A plant certified six times

The Chalon/Saint-Marcel plant is committed to adhering to strict conditions in terms of quality, security, health, and environmental protection. A number of certifications bear witness to compliance with these requirements in accordance with the applicable standards and codes: ASME Section III, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, RCC-M, BCCN, and ISO 14001.
The Chalon/Saint Marcel plant holds the following sic certifications:
- ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) section III: American standards requiring N and NPT certification.
- ISO 9001: this standard represents a step towards total quality management.
- ISO 14001: this environmental management system identifies 18 requirements in 6 major categories: intentions of the facility in environmental terms, objectives, planning, implementation of planned initiatives, checks and corrective actions, management review.
- OHSAS 18001: this standard vouches for strict and effective occupational health and safety management.
- RCC-M: Equipment Construction and Design Regulations Nuclear power plant mechanics, as defined by the AFCEN (French Association for the design and construction regulations for nuclear power steam supply systems equipment).
- French legislation on pressurized water nuclear reactors: monitoring of which is undertaken by the French Nuclear Safety Authority, represented by the BCCN (Office for Nuclear Steam Supply Systems Testing).
