CERCA manufactures and supplies fuel for research reactors and offers related services such as transport (CERCA casks) and low enriched uranium. With facilities located in Romans and Pierrelatte in southeast France, CERCA is the leading global fuel supplier for research reactors, including TRIGA reactors.
Fuel elements for research reactors

A global leader with 40% market share, CERCA manufactures and supplies fuel elements for research reactors, test reactors and high-flux reactors. Its exceptional strengths include:
- delivery of 25 types of fuel in 40 countries,
- TRIGA fuel models (in cooperation with General Atomics),
- a significant R&D department,
- annual delivery of more than 500 fuel elements.
CERCA also:
- develops uranium targets for medical applications,
- supplies uranium,
- offers transport and logistics services (CERCA’s casket has been approved by safety authorities around the world),
- develops new products like the UMo alloy (uranium molybdenum) and LEU (low enriched uranium) medical targets.
Radioactive standard sources
CERCA, via the Laboratoire Etalons d'Activité (LEA), manufactures and sells radioactive sources used in industrial, medical and research applications.
It also ensures transport and installation of the sources as well as their return after use.
