About AREVA Med

AREVA Med is an AREVA subsidiary based in Bethesda, Maryland, United States.
The company is contributing to the fight against cancer by developing innovative methods to produce the rare radioisotope 212Pb.
It is used in alpha radioimmunotherapy, a promising treatment to fight, notably, pancreatic, ovarian, colon, breast, prostate and other cancers.
A critical mission
AREVA Med has a dual mission: to industrialize production of 212Pb and to develop innovative and powerful therapies to combat deadly diseases.
The TAO project
A team working at La Hague came up with the idea of extracting 212Pb from AREVA’s industrial activities.
