Building a 212-Pb production site

AREVA Med is planning to build a facility on its Bessines site in Limousin, France that will produce medical-grade 212Pb on a large scale for anticancer treatments.
In nuclear medicine, the development of new treatments is dictated by isotope availability.
With this new facility scheduled to open in 2013, rare 212Pb will become more widely available, allowing for the creation of new targeted therapies for patients.
