A bright future for CSP

The Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) market is expanding at a rapid rate, a growth that is supported by ambitious climate change goals and progressive governmental incentives. By 2020, experts predict the CSP market will reach an estimated installed capacity of over 20 GWe, with an average annual growth rate of 20%. AREVA Solar is poised to fill the increased need for CSP technology.

Today, the most important markets for solar CSP are Australia and India. Other regions which present high potential include the US, Middle East & Northern Africa, South Africa and China.

At the end of 2008, approximately 482MWe of CSP plant capacity was in operation:

  • 419MWe in the U.S.,

Stamp of approval
