Uranium enrichment: an essential step
Site activities
SET(Société d’Enrichissement du Tricastin) is the project manager and operator of the Georges Besse II plant. This new facility will ultimately replace the Georges Besse plant, operated by EURODIF Production.
The uranium enrichment technology will switch from gaseous diffusion, as currently used in the Georges Besse plant, to enrichment by centrifugation, which is higher performing.
By the end of 2009, SET employed 140 staff members, around 100 of whom are responsible for preparing for operational start-up.
