Triple certification: ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001

Quality control of rods at the MELOX facility

For over 10 years, the MELOX plant has met highly stringent procedures in relation to quality, the environment and occupational safety. The high performance of the site has been rewarded with a triple certification: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Committed to sustainable development and taking care to meet its customers' requirements, MELOX has successively received:

  • ISO 9002 certification in 1997: an international standard (becoming ISO 9001 in 2000) certifying the expertise in the procedures implemented to obtain an outcome that complies with the specifications set out with customers.
  • ISO 14001 certification: part of the international ISO 10000 standard regarding the implementation of an environmental management system. It lists 18 requirements based in 6 broad themes: intentions of the facility in environmental terms, objective, planning, implementation of planned initiatives, checks and corrective actions , management review. Companies are checked every three years by an outside auditor who certifies that the environmental management system is in accordance with the standard.

In 2003, MELOX was one of the first French companies to be awarded global ISO 9001 (version 2000) and ISO 14001 certification.

The facility also wan the Regional Award (2000) and the French Award (2001) for Quality.

In 2006, MELOX was awarded triple certification (health and safety, quality and the environment) through OHSAS 18001 certification - the international benchmark for &uot;occupational health and safety&uot; management systems.
