AREVA Resources Southern Africa: mines

In 2007, the AREVA group acquired AREVA Resources Southern Africa, then known as UraMin Inc. Representing the group's uraniferous mining activities in Africa, except for Niger and Gabon, the AREVA Resources Southern Africa holding company is set to supply substantial quantities of uranium in the short to long term via its subsidiaries in Namibia, Central Africa, Senegal and South Africa.
AREVA Resources Southern Africa counts 250 employees, placing special emphasis on hiring local workers and giving them the means to develop their careers, notably through training.
AREVA Resources Southern Africa follows the AREVA group's principles on sustainable development to minimize damage to the environment while also ensuring that the communities surrounding an operation benefit from AREVA's involvement.
