La Mancha, an expanding gold mining company

La Mancha Resources Inc. operates gold mines in Africa and Australia. It is experiencing significant growth and developing new projects. Wherever it is established, it accepts its social responsibilities to the local populations.
Founded in September 2006, La Mancha Resources Inc. is a company in which AREVA holds a 63% interest. Its principal gold mines are situated on the Ivory Coast, in Sudan and in Australia.
Three operating mines:
- 40% interest in Hassai, the leading gold mine in Sudan
- 45.9% interest in Ity, the leading gold mine on the Ivory Coast
- 51% interest in Frog's Leg, an underground gold mine in Australia
A proposed fourth project: 100% interest in White Foil, an open-pit gold mine in Australia
High exploration potential: 30 exploration projects in 4 countries (Australia, Ivory Cost, Sudan and Argentina)
A booming operation
In 2008, the company's resources saw 34% growth, going from almost 36 metric tons to close to 51 metric tons of gold. By 2011 they are set to reach more than 113 metric tons.
This increase in gold production continues as a result of:
- streamlining the operation of 2 African mines,
- higher content in the new Mont Ity pit on the Ivory Coast,
- the first full year of production at Frog's Leg in Australia in 2009.
Accepted social responsibility
La Mancha Resources Inc. provides communities and employees near its mines with continual support.
The company is actively involved in community development programs (including a hospital, day nurseries, schools and infrastructures) and with the recruitment of local workers.
