Chemical operations around the world
The Chemistry business unit’s operations are divided among 4 industrial sites in southeast France: AREVA Pierrelatte and COMURHEX Pierrelatte at the Tricastin site, COMURHEX Malvesi in Aude and AREVA Miramas in Bouches-du-Rhône.
AREVA Pierrelatte
AREVA Pierrelatte is located at the Tricastin site in Drôme. It specializes in uranium chemistry.
COMURHEX Pierrelatte: from UF4 to UF6
COMURHEX Pierrelatte converts the uranium tetrafluoride from COMURHEX Malvési into uranium hexafluoride, the final step before enrichment.
COMURHEX Malvési
COMURHEX Malvési carries out the first step in converting uranium concentrate, giving it a chemical form suitable for enrichment.
AREVA Miramas: end of operations
AREVA Miramas, in Bouches-du-Rhône, has ceased lithium and boron production. AREVA now is dismantling and cleaning up the site.
