Since 2006, AREVA Pierrelatte has held three certifications: one for its quality management system, one for its environmental management system, and one for its occupational health and safety management system.
ISO 9001 version 2000 for quality
Compliance with ISO 9001 version 2000 standards offers AREVA Pierrelatte customers a guarantee that, thanks to a systematic quality process, their needs will be understood and fulfilled.
ISO 14001 for the environment
In terms of the environment, the ISO 14001-certified management system involves:
- Managing industrial processes in a way that prevents accidental situations and guarantees the safety of personnel and preservation of the environment and property.
- Dismantling facilities using techniques that are best suited to good waste management and that optimize the possibilities for recovery.
- Reclaiming grounds for future use and in accordance with territorial strategies and local economic development.
- Continuously tracking and limiting environmental impacts, both by reducing consumption as well as by preventing pollution and managing emergency situations.
OHSAS 18001 for health and safety
AREVA Pierrelatte’s health and safety policy is in compliance with the OHSAS 18001 standard.
The facility takes action to achieve its goal of “zero accidents” using:
- Tools (especially the unique risk evaluation document), workplace safety analysis (including all tasks contracted to external companies), participative safety visits and facility safety visits.
- Individual skills, correctly developed and permanently maintained, in a culture of responsibility and respect for procedures.
- An organization anchored in facility managers on one hand, and workplace safety and medicine on the other hand, the adherence of all and setting examples on the part of management.
