History

Since 1960, Tricastin has been the historical cradle of the nuclear industry. A look back at the major milestones in the life of the site
- 2005 : awarded three certifications: ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety)
- 1999 : commencement of dismantlement work on the highly enriched uranium production plants
- 1996 : commissioning of the TU5 plant (conversion of uranyl nitrate, originating from the AREVA La Hague plant, into U3O8 oxide) Shutdown of highly enriched uranium production
- 1984 : commissioning of the W plant (depleted UF6 defluorination plant)
- 1986 : commissioning of the TU2 plant (production of uranium dioxide, a component of MOX fuel, and conversion of uranyl nitrate into U3O8 oxide)
- 1961 : creation by French Atomic Energy Authority (CEA) of a site for production of highly enriched uranium intended for use in national defense, by means of gaseous diffusion technology
