Environmental measurements

The COMURHEX Malvési site has a policy of reducing environmental waste to an absolute minimum. The plant carries out ongoing checks on its activities and their impact on the natural environment. Furthermore, regular monitoring of local fauna and flora is carried out by an accredited body and by State organizations.
Ongoing checks of the impact of our activities on the natural environment
Environmental monitoring is subject to a plan inspected by the French Regional Department for Industry, Research and the Environment (DRIRE). This plan specifies the sampling points, the regularity of the checks, and the methods for analysis.
Every year, nearly 18,000 analyses are carried out on 5,100 samples taken from the natural environment (water, air, and plant life) at 250 geographical points around the site and its nearby environment.
Many environmental measurements are taken regularly from various elements in the surrounding terrain and water (rainwater, pumping and irrigation water, ground water, air, vegetation).
These analyses are carried out by COMURHEX laboratories and by accredited external laboratories.
