Spread of information

In accordance with the law and with AREVA group transparency guidelines, EURODIF Production regularly publishes information on its activities.
2008 Report on nuclear safety and protection against radiation
In accordance with the French Nuclear Material Safety and Transparency Act (TSN) and in line with AREVA's policy of openness and transparency, the AREVA site in Tricastin releases annual general reports.
This document details measures taken with respect to sustainable development and results in the areas of safety and radiation protection. It also provides information on the activities of 6 AREVA companies operating on the site: AREVA Pierrelatte, COMURHEX Pierrelatte, EURODIF Production, FBFC Pierrelatte, SET, and SOCATRI.
Health Risk Assessment (HRA) study
In light of the current rapid pace of change, the AREVA group in Tricastin has asked INERIS (the French National Institute for the Industrial Environment and Risks) to conduct a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) study on the risks associated with our operations.
It assesses the impact of industrial activities for the future transition period, from the present through to 2010/2012. The assessment is based on conservative estimates by totaling up the waste produced by existing facilities and the Georges Besse II facility, without taking into account scheduled periods of inactivity, in the interest of averting any potential risks to the local inhabitants.
Naturally, the findings of this study will be of interest to those residing near the river. For this reason, AREVA has decided to make them available to the public.
Georges Besse II - The dawn of a new age for enrichment
Since 1978, the Georges Besse plant operated by EURODIF, a subsidiary of the AREVA group on the Tricastin site, has been enriching uranium via gaseous diffusion in order to meet the needs of power companies. During the period of 2009 and 2016, this facility will be gradually replaced by the Georges Besse II plant. This new facility is a project of strategic importance for AREVA and one of the most significant industrial investments of the decade for France.
The Georges Besse II plant will be the first facility in France to run on centrifugation technology, currently considered to offer the highest performance in the field of uranium enrichment. This plant will enable AREVA to guarantee continuity of delivery to its customer well into the future.
The brochure "Georges Besse II - The dawn of a new age for enrichment" features the plant's design and construction site, as well as centrifugation technology.
