ANF Karlstein: fabrication of spacer grids
ANF Karlstein (Advanced Nuclear Fuel) is a subsidiary of AREVA GmbH located in Germany. Its specialty: fabrication of spacer grids and end grids for reactors.
The Karlstein plant produces:
- support grids and upper and lower tie plates for fuel assemblies for pressurized water reactors (PWRs) and boiling water reactors (BWRs)
- water pipes for BWRs
It also manufactures various fuel assembly parts: rod nozzles, ferrules, screws, and other small parts.
These components are used for nuclear fuel assembly fabrication at specialized AREVA facilities.
