Global Compact Leaders Summit 2007 "Facing realities: Getting Down to Business"- July 5-6 2007 (Geneva, Switzerland)
The 2007 Global Compact Leaders Summit on the theme of "Facing Realities: Getting Down to Business" is focusing on corporate leadership and social responsibility. The event, organized by the United Nations and chaired by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, will assemble business leaders, government officials and members of civil society. The goal of the summit is to build the markets of the future and achieve the objectives of the Global Compact. 

The operational phase of the Global Compact between the UN and businesses was launched at UN headquarters in New York on July 26, 2000. The purpose of the pact is to enable everyone on the planet to benefit from globalization and anchor global markets to essential values and practices in respond to socio-economic needs. 

AREVA signed the Global Compact in 2003. Anne Lauvergeon, Chairman of the Executive Board of the AREVA group, is a member of the Board of Directors of the UN Global Compact and is making a presentation during the summit.
