Sustainable development is a keystone of AREVA's industrial strategy. Using a continuous improvement approach, the group applies its commitments to many fields: nuclear safety, health, occupational safety, the environment, financial performance, human resources, dialogue with stakeholders and local economic development.

The Sustainable Development and Continuous Improvement Department spearheads our initiative. It is supported by the applicable corporate departments and by a network of leaders and subject area experts in the subsidiaries, business units and sites.

This initiative is supplemented since 2002 with a series of indicators to monitor and drive sustainable development performance at each site. The initiative also includes the AREVA Way, a self-assessment model, defined so that the group entities can measure their own performance annually.
