AREVA Foundation and Institut Pasteur renew partnership in China

The AREVA Foundation and Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPS), have decided to pursue the work in China they first jointly undertook in 2004 to combat emerging deseases.
AREVA CEO, Anne Lauvergeon, and Professor Alice Dautry, Director General of Institut Pasteur have sealed this move by renewing their agreement for international cooperation. The groups’ decision reflects their shared objective of research and development into innovative technologies, with particular focus on climate change and its effects on the causes of viral infections.

The partnership will enable IPS to take steps forward in areas such as:

High-level scientific training,
Supporting young Chinese scientists,
Personnel information and risk prevention,
Basic AIDS research, allowing AREVA to repeat and strengthen its commitment to combating the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

This partnership is just one example of the AREVA Foundation’s numerous corporate patronage actions, the major focuses of which include climate change and knowledge sharing, through which the group puts its skills and technologies to use tackling the major challenges facing the 21st Century.
