Preambule

General Guidelines
To create an exchange of ideas between the group and its various stakeholders, the AREVA internet Site offers a discussion forum where interested parties such as group employees, shareholders, clients, suppliers, non-governmental organizations, government authorities, associations and local communities may express their respective points of view.

The data included may not be processed for any purpose other than those stipulated in the article data collected at the site in the privacy statement. Each contributor may, at any time, request to the service in charge of access rights to have his or her contributions erased. For technical reasons, cybernauts must submit any deletion request no more than one (1) month after the message was first posted on AREVA website.

This project is indicative of AREVA's desire to address all issues fairly and openly.

The main moderating principles governing the Site discussion forum reflect the AREVA group's objectives:
- To come to light all points of view
- To respect all opinions, including dissenting opinions
- To foster constructive dialogue among all stakeholders
- To encourage the largest number of interested parties to take part in the discussion
- To give cybernauts access to information needed to form a opinion
- To listen to the stakeholders in order to improve group practices as part of our continuous improvement process.

Glossary

Member(s) / Cybernaut(s):
Any person registered in the AREVA Site Member Area will be designated as a Member. To register, a Member must fill in a registration form and validate his or her registration with a confirmation email.
Dialogue section: The AREVA Site dialogue section includes a discussion forum and a voting section.

Service(s): Service(s) mean the AREVA Site interactive functionalities accessible to Members, particularly those in the Site's dialogue section.

Dialogue section themes: themes cover a variety of subjects. To initiate the discussion, AREVA representatives and experts express an opinion ("Position" and "Questions for..."), while association or NGO representatives may contribute by delivering their own point of view ("Face to Face").
New themes will be added while existing themes will remain active as long as warranted.

Discussion topics: They encompass points of view offered by stakeholders on a specific theme addressed in the discussion forum. The initial subjects, chosen when a new theme is launched, are selected from the Points of View records (Tribune, Opinion, Face to Face). These topics serve as a starting point for discussion in the discussion forum.

Feedback: Feedback is new contribution by a stakeholder on a preexisting topic or preexisting feedback (or even feedback on previous feedback).

Stakeholders: Stakeholders include all parties that may be affected by the group's operations. They include group co-participants, such as employees, clients, suppliers, shareholders, directors, as well as non-group parties such as government, trade unions, non-governmental organizations, media, or interested local parties such as local communities or associations. Each participant in the Site discussion forum is identified by a pseudo-name and his affiliation to one of the AREVA stakeholders' groups as disclosed in the profile submitted by the Member in his or her registration form.

Why is registration required to be able to contribute to the dialogue?

Registration is required to sort the Members' contributions by stakeholder category. Disclosure of the participants' affiliations helps maximize the benefits of dialogue. Registration is also required to enforce rules of moderation and encourage a meaningful, organized discussion.

Moderating principles

The moderator shall review all observations offered by the Members and shall have eligible entries to be posted on the Site. The moderator will ensure that the principles outlined in this document are implemented fully and fairly. The moderator will refer to these principles in all instances.

AREVA and/or its designated contractor(s) will act as moderator(s), as defined in the present document.

Message sorting

The topics offered by the Members will be sorted and posted in reverse chronological order, starting with the last Member observation validated by the moderator. The more recent topics will therefore take precedence over older subjects having already elicited a large number of reactions. This methodology will foster the development of fresh topics.

Members' reactions will be sorted by topic and, under such topic, by posting date in order to make the latest ones emerge. Thus, a specific feedback will always be posted below the original observation that triggered it, but above any previous feedback to the original observation.

The votes: a complement to the forum

A polling system has been set up to complement the observations, qualitative in nature, posted in the discussion forum.

The moderator will select ideas or observations submitted by the Members and edit them as needed for polling purposes. The members will have an opportunity to "Agree" or "Disagree" with the ideas or suggestions submitted to a vote. The polling process will minimize duplication among Member observations by allowing Members to express their opinion on a particular subject based on a preexisting comment. Results from the polls will be published in the Site's "Opinions barometer" section.

Comments or ideas will be selected for polling based on the following criteria:
- The comment or idea makes sense by itself, irrespective of the observation or suggestion that may have prompted it.
- The posting message must be original and/or complement pre-existing ideas on a given theme.

Web rules of ethics – netiquette

Internet usage is subject to certain rules of ethics that contribute to a productive experience for the benefit all cybernauts.
Most of these rules follow common sense and simple logic. However, excessive passion and insufficient netiquette knowledge may result in disruption or outright misbehavior.
The rules we refer to are RFC 1855, Netiquette Guidelines, available at http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html

Hereunder are some rules of ethics applicable to a discussion forum.
• Be ethical in your messages and tolerant of other cybernauts' mistakes. Do not send hate messages even when provoked.
• Remember that the recipient of your message may be a person with a different culture, language, or humor reference than yourself. Remember that your date formats, measurement units, and idiomatic expressions may easily be misunderstood. Be very careful with sarcasm.
• Type in small letters. LARGE CAPS GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE YELLING!!!
• Do not misquote or impersonate others.
• Do not blame AREVA or the moderator for Members' misbehavior.
• Advertising, as well as any repetitive message, is not welcome.
• Do not send illegal, defamatory, menacing, or sexually offensive material or messages.
• Avoid gratuitous comments in response to other Members' postings.
• Your message will be posted unless it violates the moderating rules published in this document. If you do not find your message on the Site, do not waste your time reposting it. It will be rejected again.
