The Nuclear cleanup business unit provides its customers - nuclear facility operators - with global services in the following areas:

cleanup of equipment or installations and dismantling sites that have been decommissioned

radiation protection for humans and the environment

maintenance of installations.
The business unit also offers decontamination services for wastes with no applicable processing system, such as lead and mercury. For this, it has patented two innovative procedures for decontamination of this type of waste.
Moreover, it is widening its field of operations by participating further up the chain, in the context of plant installation, in construction site logistics, support services at nuclear facilities and sites.
AREVA is the leader in the Nuclear cleanup market in France.

The business unit's main customer is EDF, with whom multi-year and shorter term contracts are signed for a number of French sites.
The group serves other customers among which the Commissionership to Atomic Energy (CEA) and the National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (Andra).

The Cleanup business unit is present on almost all French nuclear sites, its operations being mainly conducted on the customer's premises.
Within the AREVA group, Nuclear cleanup operations are handled by AREVA NC.
