The Equipment business unit is the world leading manufacturer of nuclear power plants key equipment.

It manufactures in particular:

 heavy nuclear equipment: reactor vessels, steam generatorspressurizers, etc.

 mechanical components for nuclear islands

 spare parts: motor-pump assemblies, motor-pump assemblies, control rod mechanisms, etc.

The group is the world's leading manufacturer of nuclear equipment, a sector which mostly comprises:

 the component replacement for existing power plants

 the new power plants.

 Customers

The Equipment business unit's main customers are American utilities. In the United States, thanks to the combined services provided by the business unit's 3 plants and U.S.-based engineering and services teams, the group is leader on the market.

The Chinese market is another important export focus, especially with regard to plant construction projects.

In France, the Equipment business unit has a dominant position with market share of around 80% and EDF as its major customer.

 Locations

The business unit is present in Lynchburg (United States) and is set to open a plant for reactor coolant pumps in China in 2008.

Its main industrial sites are located in France in:

 Chalon Saint Marcel (Saône et Loire administrative department), a site dedicated to heavy nuclear components

 Montcharnin and Le Creusot (Saône et Loire administrative department), with the 4 SFARSTEEL sites, including Creusot Forge

 Jeumont (Nord region), with the JSPM company for moving components

 Maubeuge (Nord region), with Somanu - a JSPM subsidiary - that has a decontamination and equipment repair workshop for parts from nuclear power plants.
