Tropical temperature for breeding 500 crocodiles

Greenhouses heated with hot water provided by Eurodif plant (Drome - France)

Recycling energy

The EURODIF uranium enrichment plant consumes a large amount of energy for its gaseous diffusion process. Heat exchangers recover much of that energy and convert it to hot water.

The hot water network, equivalent to 250 MW, is used to maintain the tropical temperature within a specialized farm where are raised crocodiles. It is also used to heat 2,400 residences in the Pierrelatte township (Drome / France) and 42 hectares (about 104 acres) of agricultural greenhouses.
