150 dolphins under observation at the tip of La Hague peninsula |
|
||
The biggest colony of sea mammals in Europe has made its home along the western coast of the French Cotentin peninsula. A local sea mammal study group (GECC) is observing dolphin populations and their behavior. COGEMA* has been supporting this initiative for over five years. Thanks to this aid, GECC has been able to create a regional network of observers of these marine mammals. It informs and increases the awareness of professionals and the general public through conferences, special school programs, etc. |
