Just one pellet can produce as much energy as a ton of coal!

Enriched uranium, in the form of uranium oxide, is compacted into pellets cooked in an oven. A single pellet has a diameter of 8 mm, weighs 7 to 8 grams and can produce as much energy as a ton of coal!

By producing some 200 million pellets every year, Framatome ANP*, an AREVA and Siemens company, thus prevents emissions of nearly 1 billion tons CO2 into the atmosphere.
