Lunar landscape…
At the Arlit uranium mine deep in the Sahara desert in Niger, the uranium ore is so close to the surface that workers go just sixty meters down to the bottom of the open pit mine to retrieve it.
The group gives preference to training and employing Nigeriens who hold 99% of the 1,700 jobs created by its two mining companies.
