Fuel for the research reactor of Laue-Langevin Institute in Grenoble, (France)

A research reactor is a low-power reactor specially designed to produce very high neutron fluxes. These neutrons have various uses, such as producing radioactive isotopes for health applications such as diagnosing or treating cancer and performing aging tests on materials exposed to radiation.

There are about 250 of these research reactors in service around the world. Fuel for these reactors is supplied by CERCA, a subsidiary of Framatome ANP*, an AREVA and Siemens company, world leader with more of 40% of the market.
