Search of Sun's energy on the Earth…

ITER project has been set up to examine the possibility of a new mean to produce energy on a large-scale by the end of the 21st Century: thermonuclear fusion.

The Technical Centre of Framatome ANP*, an AREVA and Siemens company, manufactures and tests, under a high thermal flux, prototypical components for internal wall applications in ITER.

Indeed, a considered selection of the materials to be used for the structure of the reactor would limit their activation, i.e. the sensitivity of the components to neutrons emitted during the fusion reaction.
